Celebrating the American Cheese Plate: 2014 ACS Conference & Competition
The American Cheese Society (ACS) has announced that it will bring its annual Conference & Competition to California for the first time in more than 10 years. With the theme of “Celebrating the American Cheese Plate,” the 31st Annual ACS Conference & Competition takes place July 29-Aug. 1, 2014, at the Sacramento Convention Center and at various locations around the state capital. Just as a good cheese plate brings together a variety of tastes, textures and experiences, so too will this event, which will welcome nearly 1,000 cheese industry members to Sacramento, including cheesemakers, retailers, distributors, importers, specialty food producers and even enthusiasts who simply appreciate ... |

Carol Christison, Longtime IDDBA President, Remembered
Carol L. Christison, longtime International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA) president, died March 4, 2014. Christison replaced retiring International Cheese & Deli Association executive director, Willard T. Reese, in December of 1982 at the Madison, Wis.-based organization, and over the next 31 years, built the association into the leading organization in the industry. The Association later became known as the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association. Christison had left an executive position with The American College of Sports Medicine to avoid relocating her family and quickly embraced the vision of the Association – which is to be the essential resource for relevant information and services ... |
